Default RE: What is Private Port??

What service are you trying to port forward? If you want to host a web page for example then you need:

Public port 80
Private port 80
Host ip address: the ip address of your internal web server (192.168.x.x)

That way when a person types your Public IP address into their web browser it gets forwarded by your router to your web server.

You can do the same with other services like ftp, smtp etc.. you just need to knwo what the port is being used. Hope this helps.
