Default Having to do things twice

I have a odd problem. I am having to do things twice on my laptop. If I click to close a window once the window doesnt close it just hangs but if I hit the close button again it closes right away. The same thing happens on web pages and on putty. Does anyone have ideas as to what could be going on.

What are you using? Mouse, TouchPad (double tap) or the TouchPad Buttons? Check the Mouse/TouchPad settings.
