Default KMS For Win7 & Office 2010

Hello, has anyone tried creating a GPO to manually set the KMS server value on Win7 cleints.

We plan on using KMS for Win7/Office 2010 activation but being a worldwide company we want to have regional KMS servers. Complicating matters even more when they rolled out AD here they did it flat meaning we just have a "win.company.net" rather that "east" & "west" .win.company.net or "US" "AP" "EMEA"

So anyway letting KMS register itself will cause problems because they are all in the same domain and i don't want the ones in EMEA registering against the KMS in the US etc...

There is a way of configuring KMS clients to register with a specific KMS server via a HKLM reg key and i would like to apply that with a GPO applied to the workstations OU's at our various sites. The reg keys are;

For WIN7 (not sure if same key for server 2008 );
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform]
"KeyManagementServiceName"="KSMservername"

For Office 2010;
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OfficeSoftwa reProtectionPlatform]
"KeyManagementServiceName"="KSMservername"

What would an ADM file look like that would set those parameters?

Thanks

There is no need for a adm file. Windows 7 GPO's have the possibility of setting registry settings.

Thanks,but my problem is we still have a window 2003 based domain and the group that administers GPO is doing it either the server or XP based workstation with the servers 2003 tools. They are asking for it as an ADM based GPO...
Thanks

In that case google for reg2adm.zip. It is somewhere in the novell cool tools section. It is a simple way to create an adm file when you have the reg file.
