Default Restoring from NTBackup

We need to restore data from a DDS2 tape that was created using ntbackup 0n a Windows 2000 server, the server no longer exists. I have access to a 2003 server with a DDS2 drive but the tapes are not in the ntbackup catalog on this system. How can I get the Windows 2003 system to read the tapes?

Oh my, it's been a long time since I've had to do this...

On the restore and manage media tab can you see the tape in question? If so you should be able to right-click it and catalog it.

If you don't see the tape then check Removable Media Manager to make sure the system recognizes the tape.

Thanks Jeremy. It was visible in Removable Storage Manager but not in NTBackup. A quick reboot fixed that though.
